On Thursday May 1st we’re going to try something new out at SST. For anyone who wants to show up we are having FREE timed practice runs for a few hours in the evening. The course that we are going to use is approximately 1:30 minutes in length and all downhill.
The previous course record is 1:13.29 by The Sternbergler, so lets see if anyone can beat it. This is a great chance for everyone to come and figure out some race strategy and just have a good time riding. The course will be marked immediately prior to the event, please meet on 18th ave. South, directly across from the main gate (There is ample parking and this is closer to the course than the main parking lot). Meet @ 5:45, leaving the gate at 6:00.

Megan and I finished the Cape Epic a few weeks ago now, and it all seems a distant memory already. We finished the Epic 306th overall out of about 665 teams, beating a hell of a lot of blokes on the way (which always feels great).
There were 25 Women’s teams at the start and only 17 of them made it to the finish line. We were the 14th women’s team overall, and we finished 10th place in the last stage (not too bad for two non pro xc racers). Continue reading ‘Team Iron Horse Maidens Killed it!’
Another year of the Sea Otter has come and gone. Greg Minnar made quite a showing, winning both the dual slalom and the downhill in impressive fashion. Three Fluidride/Virtual Descent racers made it to Monterey to test their fitness against the worlds best (Headcam footage). Continue reading ‘Sea Otter 2008′
Ready to improve your results and ride faster with more control? Come and attend the first racing clinic of the 2008 season at Port Angeles’ Dry Hill on Saturday and Sunday May 3rd and 4th.
The clinic will offer riders the opportunity to learn with Pro riders/instructors Simon Lawton and Lars Sternberg. The use of our follow cams and our Freelap timing system will allow riders to make tangible improvements to their race times.
Fluidride has about a dozen Maxxis Wet Scream Tires left in stock. While these tires aren’t technically available in the US, we were able to get our hands on twenty or so tires. The tires are 2.5″ Super Tacky 42a compound, and are the the most sought after mud tires on the planet. Due to high import and shipping costs, the tires are $79 each, but well worth the money with the traction they offer on muddy ground. Give either shop a call asap if you want to get your hands on a pair. With the wet weather we’ve had lately, these babies are just the ticket!
