- released March ‘08 *Updated Comments*

Fluidride: Like a Pro focuses on the body movement of successful cyclists, and breaks down complex movements into an easily understandable format. A mix of discussion, theory, physics, and actual lessons, Fluidride: Like A Pro tackles each section from a variety of angles with excellent trail riding and racing examples to illustrate technique. Created by Fluidride Owner Simon Lawton, a veteran downhill Pro and instructor of 15 years and ace rider Lars Sternberg, this video will help take your riding to the next level. Intended for riders of all off road disciplines from Novice to Expert.

Comments On DVD and Fluidride’s Camps and Instruction:

I bought my copy of your “Fluidride- Like a Pro” video at GI Joes in Kirkland a week or so back. I watched it once and was hooked and yes I started the little brushfire of activity proposing all kinds of options w/the club including working with you to get this into the hands of the bootcamp students as they “graduate”. Tonight is my second viewing and I’m enjoying the depth of it even more. I’m hoping it will get you more students than you can keep up with straight out of bootcamp. Anyhow on the video project: well done pacing from braking, descending, drops and dirt jumps, including Lars the dirt jumping genius.

And I actually have already enjoyed/absorbed one copy of the DVD. :-) Indeed, I found it so informative that I’m getting this one for a friend who I thought would benefit from the content. She’s just a beginner, but you just can’t start learning good technique too soon. Wish I would have had the benefit of some quality instruction early on, rather than having to unlearn bad (XC) habits picked up over my early racing years. Anyhow, cheers. You have a great product; I look forward to future installments!

Just wanted to say – Thanks Got the DVD, great job, I will learn lots from it. Cheers,

Over the last fifteen years of instructing riders, and constantly looking to improve my own riding, I’ve been wanting to make a movie which encapsulates the core concepts I’ve been teaching. After meeting up with Mark Brent of Bones Over Metal, this project came to life. With a year of filming, editing and general perseverance, Fluidride: Like a Pro is now on the shelves! This movie has been a labor of love, and we are stoked to bring this movie to riders around the world. Special thanks go out to Lars Sternberg, Mark Brent, and the crew at Video Action Sports for bringing the movie to life .

More Comments:
Simon, just would like to say thanks to you, Lars, and all the people who helped put your video together. Fluidride like a pro is the most informative gravity oriented video I’ve seen. In your instruction, you get the point across very well, and easily understood. Lars can be a bit confusing at times, but hey, we all know he’s had a few too many shots to the head!! LMAO ;}Thank you guys for all your hard work!

Hi Simon, great DVD, it helped me the very next ride. I rode a bit about 10 years ago and wasn’t very good. I’m trying to start up again and don’t want to hurt myself so I thought some lessons focused on the scary parts of a ride would be a good idea. I think I can learn enough to survive from the DVD on the basics but drops and steep declines still freak me out. Do you think some private lessons can help me out there?

The completion of this DVD project for Simon and Fluidride has been more than just seeing a project realized. The unintended benefit has been the increase of the level of riding I’ve been able to achieve in learning the very concepts and lessons that I helped Simon bring to the DVD. Simon’s lessons are without equal and need to be watched over and over to truly make instinct. HE WILL MAKE YOU A BETTER RIDER!

I would like to commend you on creating the most technically explicit instructional DVD I have ever had the good fortune to watch. I have done numerous MTB skills courses in Australia covering both DH & XC riding but no-one has ever broken it down to this extent. No-one has ever talked to me about riding in two’s and further more no-one I have encountered really understood the physics side of riding. They could show you how it was done and to a certain extent break it down but nothing like what you have done. I wish you guys were operating out of Sydney because I would love to do a number of your clinics. One suggestion though, you didn’t discuss climbing and more inportantly technical climbs. In particular techniques to get up rock ledges etc. Also I thought your segment on “J” hopping off jumps was a little brief. I have in my library numerous instructional DVDs including “The Fundamentals”, “Tricks & Stunts” & “BiKing” by Martyn Ashton and Martin Hawkes, “Trictionary” and “Dirtschool” just to name a few but I can say that none of them match the technical detail of your production.

Congratulations and I hope to see another of your productions.

    Many Thanks

    Wayne Mitchell

Thanks Wayne! We are hard at work making our next feature, which is simply titled TURN – it’s an in depth look at cornering and how footwork affects bike control. Who knows, maybe one day I will come and do a camp in your area!

    Wayne,

I also meant to mention that an XC/Trail specific title is in the works – complete with climbing skills. Got a lot on my plate right now, so no exact date for release yet, but I am working hard to get more titles out!
