Bryn Atkinson wins Fluidride Cup #3

The third round of the Fluidride Cup has come and gone, and with how dry the track was, I think the dust may still be settling. WATCH THE VIDEO OF THE RACE OR CHECK OUT THE TRACK! Bryn Atkinson (GT) and Joy Mutoli (Speedy Beavers) cruised to victory with substantial margins over their competition in the Mens and womens downhill competition. Due to heavy snowpack this winter, we were only able to race from the midway point on the mountain, which shortened the course from the normal four minutes to about two and a half. Riders all got two runs down the course, with their fastest time counting toward the overall. With only five or six runs down the hill in practice Bryn Atkinson (GT) showed how to dial a course in only a day, and put it to his competition on the first run, posting a super fast 2:17, which was easily fast enough to take home $600 for his first place effort. Lars Sternberg (Fluidride/Virtual Descent) answered with a fast run of 2:21, which would stick for second place. Bart Mc Daniel (Center Cycles) was the only rider to post a faster second run, and with a smoking 2:23, which was fast enough to knock Luke Strobel (Maxxis) off the box for a third place finish. It was great to have Luke back on the track and getting his speed back (4th place) after several months in a cast from an injury suffered at the Sea Otter in April. Ethan Mutoli (Factory Rotec/Center) rounded out the top five for the day, with his wife Joy riding to first place in the Womens Pro Division. A big thanks goes out to all who attended the race, and to Bryn, who’s attendance was welcomed by everyone. We’ll hope to see you all at the next race in Port Angeles on August 22-24.      Fluidride Cup #3 Results
