It’s been a busy winter for the crew at Fluidride. Simon and Lars have finished making our feature length instructional movie Fluidride: Like A Pro which was produced by the two in conjunction with Mark Brent of Bones Over Metal. The movie has just come back from Video Action Sports where it was replicated and is now ready for retail distribution. Fluidride: Like A Pro features in depth analysis of many of the core skills required for all types of off road riding, along with footage and discussion of racing and trail riding.
Additionally, the two have have been working extra hours to bring miles of single track to you at your computer wherever you are. Be sure to check out Virtual Descent, which offers trails from our area, and around the world. Look for many more free trails to be uploaded in the coming months. We always have cameras on trails where the sun is shining, so tune in.
Fluidride Store Operations Manager Zeb Tingey has put in many hours of volunteer labor at Colonnade Park to help create a very diverse trials area for the growing trials community in Seattle. Even when the sun isn’t shining in Seattle, it doesn’t rain at Colonnade! There have been over 50 other volunteers per month putting in an average of 500 volunteer hours. Talk about community! Seattle loves to ride. A special thanks goes out to Mike Westra and the crew at the Back Country Bicycle Trails Club (www.bbtc.org) for their constant efforts on behalf of the PNW cycling community.
Our crew has also been hard at work to bring racing back to the northwest with the introduction of The Fluidride Cup gravity series to be held in Port Angeles Washington, and Mt Hood Oregon. This series would not be possible with the help of Fox Racing, Iron Horse Bicycles, Shimano, e-thirteen, Sunline, SDG, Troy Lee Designs, Five Ten, and Red Bull. Special thanks also goes out to Shiloh Cycles in Gresham Oregon for their generous donation to the series raffle. The 6 race gravity series kicks off April 4-6th with Downhill and Dual Slalom racing in Port Angeles.
