As a result of his aggressively fast riding of late, Lars Sternberg has been invited to join the US Worlds DH Team. Congrats to Lars and all of his sponsors.

After years of dreaming about World Cup Racing, Lars Sternberg is getting the chance to test his metal against the worlds best riders. Lars’ trip started with a flight to New Mexico for the Angel Fire CORPS series race in New Mexico, where he had a very strong fourth place showing in the DH against a stacked field. Well, I’d have to say that this was one of the most competitive “grassroots” races I’ve ever attended.
(Ride the course with Griz from Decline)
The weekend of racing started with the dual slalom on Saturday. The men’s pro division saw a repeat of round one, with Fluidride/Virtual Descent riders Lars Sternberg and Casey Northern taking the top two spots. Ethan Mutoli (Rotec) and Ben Storar (Cannondale) rounded out the top four. Leanna Gerrard (Cannondale) took top honors in the womens division, besting Katie Holden (Katieholden.com) for the top tier of the podium. Continue reading ‘Fluidride Cup #2 “Justice Served”/Results’
Another year of the Sea Otter has come and gone. Greg Minnar made quite a showing, winning both the dual slalom and the downhill in impressive fashion. Three Fluidride/Virtual Descent racers made it to Monterey to test their fitness against the worlds best (Headcam footage). Continue reading ‘Sea Otter 2008′
Hello fellow racers! After a bit of deliberation we have decided to move the second FR Cup race to Port Angeles where the first race was held. There is still about 4-7 feet of snow on the lower course at Mt Hood, and much more at the actual resort where we normally race there (Ski Bowl). So…bring your dh bike and your slalom rig, and get ready for another round of fun May 10th and 11th. We are currently trying to work out putting on a racing clinic the weekend prior to the race (May 3rd and 4th - waiting on approval from the land managers). Stay tuned for more on that. We broke the record for attendance for a regional nw gravity event last time; let’s do it again! Tell your freinds to come out and ride! Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
Eric Carter and Andrew Neething travelled to Reunion Island off the coast of South Africa last fall for the final round of the Mega Avalanche Series. Their mechanic John Canepa did some nice filming and a great interviews with the riders. Check out pro insights into some of the toughest gravity racing on the planet at virtual descent. Special thanks go out to Eric, Andrew, John, and to Sven Martin for getting the camera in their hands. The piece is edited by Mark Brent of Bones Over Metal.
