Fluidride: Like A Pro Instructional Video- released March ‘08Fluidride: Like a Pro focuses on the body movement of successful cyclists, and breaks down complex movements into an easily understandable format. A mix of discussion, theory, physics, and actual lessons, Fluidride: Like A Pro tackles each section from a variety of angles with excellent trail riding and racing examples to illustrate technique. Created by Fluidride Owner Simon Lawton, a veteran downhill Pro and instructor of 15 years and ace rider Lars Sternberg, this video will help take your riding to the next level. Intended for riders of all off road disciplines from Novice to Expert.

From the Instructor:

Over the last fifteen years of instructing riders, and constantly looking to improve my own riding, I’ve been wanting to make a movie which encapsulates the core concepts I’ve been teaching. After meeting up with Mark Brent of Bones Over Metal, this project came to life. With a year of filming, editing and general perseverance, Fluidride: Like a Pro is now on the shelves! This movie has been a labor of love, and we are stoked to bring this movie to riders around the world. Special thanks go out to Lars Sternberg, Mark Brent, and the crew at Video Action Sports for bringing the movie to life .

Fluidride Like a Pro Testimonial:

“Watched your video yesterday, and it’s totally brilliant! I would like to thank you and your team for creating such an educational film.”

“The combination of frontal theoretical explanation and live demo is a great idea. This is proof that it is possible to explain how to ride like a pro”.

“I recently bought this DVD whilst biking in New Zealand and found it awesome!” The bit about “riding off fours” was a breakthrough, and has changed everything with my riding!

“I just want to thank you again…your tips came in super handy at the Diablo finals!! Tech turns, bermed turns, flat land turns…glad I got the refresher from Ride Like a Pro!”      -Pro Rider Karen Eagan

I bought my copy of your “Fluidride- Like a Pro” video at GI Joes in Kirkland a week or so back. I watched it once and was hooked and yes I started the little brushfire of activity proposing all kinds of options w/the club including working with you to get this into the hands of the bootcamp students as they “graduate”. Tonight is my second viewing and I’m enjoying the depth of it even more. I’m hoping it will get you more students than you can keep up with straight out of bootcamp. Anyhow on the video project: well done pacing from braking, descending, drops and dirt jumps, including Lars the dirt jumping genius.

And I actually have already enjoyed/absorbed one copy of the DVD.  Indeed, I found it so informative that I’m getting this one for a friend who I thought would benefit from the content. She’s just a beginner, but you just can’t start learning good technique too soon. Wish I would have had the benefit of some quality instruction early on, rather than having to unlearn bad (XC) habits picked up over my early racing years. Anyhow, cheers. You have a great product; I look forward to future installments!

Just wanted to say – Thanks Got the DVD, great job, I will learn lots from it. Cheers,

Simon, just would like to say thanks to you, Lars, and all the people who helped put your video together. Fluidride like a pro is the most informative gravity oriented video I’ve seen. In your instruction, you get the point across very well, and easily understood. Thank you guys for all your hard work!

Just got it. Great info, Bravo! Love to take a class some day, but i’m in so. cal…. we’ll see! Regards,

Hi Simon, great DVD, it helped me the very next ride. I rode a bit about 10 years ago and wasn’t very good. I’m trying to start up again and don’t want to hurt myself so I thought some lessons focused on the scary parts of a ride would be a good idea. I think I can learn enough to survive from the DVD on the basics but drops and steep declines still freak me out. Do you think some private lessons can help me out there?
-Nick Parsons

Just picked up your DVD and it’s phenomenal. Many instructional videos have been put together by individuals who may be excellent riders, but teaching is another game all together. Your ability to take the complex and boil it down to raw fundamentals is second to none. More importantly you help viewers transition from fundaments to their day-to-day riding with great results. This truly is the best instructional video I have ever seen. I know it’s improved my skill level and caused me to rethink several aspects of my riding. Great work….many thanks.

Hi Simon……great video!  My mechanic and MTB racing wife was able to up her performance.  In a local race at Lake Pueblo in the pro-women’s division she came in third place.  First place went to a “full time racer” pro from the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. Second place went to a “team” rider with a national sponsor! – Glenn

I’ve already started to spread the word to fellow racers about the DVD’s value. Alexis and I are doing some women’s trail clinics later this month, I’ll be sure to spread the word there as well. – Karen

ongrats and thanks on the Fluidride Like a Pro DVD. Since I got mine, I watch it every free time I have, over and over… – Guilherme

Thanks for putting together such a brilliant instructional video!

I’m a tango teacher as well as a downhiller, and work hard on developing key phrases that encapsulate a concept that I’m trying to explain. I was very interested to see that you do the same, and that you try to present material in a similar way to me.

You’ve done a great job with this!

Hi Simon,

I got your video, Ride like a Pro, last week and I must say it’s really terrific.  Not only do you show the how’s on a move, but the why’s as well.  I’ve been trail riding for 2 years now (weekend warrior) but still apprehensive on some obstacles and turns…and the descents of course.  I think your video gives as much instruction as any video can give…without actually being there.  Perhaps you have a follow-up to this in the works?  Would love to see some tight singletrack stuff and more applications on j-hops.

Wish I were in Seattle so I could take a clinic or two.  Thanks for the good work. – Jeff

Hi Simon,

Watched your video yesterday, and it’s totally brilliant!

I would like to thank you and your team for creating such an educated film. This is exactly the kind of film I was looking for, and it’s far better than any film I watched until now – Amnon

I picked up your video last week and I’ve been watching it.  Glad to see there is finally someone putting out a good instructional vid.  It’s definitely going to help my riding.  Keep up the good work.  If I’m even out in Seattle I’ll try to sneek in a lesson. – Kyle

Thanks – Erik – Albany, NY

I’m on route to the east coast and decided to view your vid.  Wow – what an undertaking! - Dave
