Simon has over 10 years of full time teaching experience, and is the producer of the Fluidride: Like a Pro, the world’s top selling instructional DVD. All instruction follows the proven Fluidride method, which is based on sound fundamentals and proper human movement over the bike.

Learn the proper way to handle your bike in order to have the most possible fun on the trail. Improve your riding by improving your:

  • Body Position: Being in the right place on your bike at the right time makes all the difference. Learn to let you bike do the work for you with correct body position.

  • Turns: We work on all types of turns. Learn proper footwork, and your turns will never be the same!
  • Descending: Learn to use the power of the hill to create control.
  • Dropping Skills: Tired of getting off your bike for drops on the trail? Learn how to take drops consistently with proper form.
  • Jumping Skills: Getting airborne can be scary or fun. Learn how to make it fun and helpful to your overall riding.
  • Climbing Skills: Learn to climb better, and get off your bike less. Learn to use your weight shifts, and concepts like “surging” to get you up the trail faster and keep you on your bike.

Learn from Simon’s 15 plus years experience in the pro ranks. Simon can help you with:

  • Body Position: Get the most from modern body positioning. Simon will teach you to mimic today’s most successful riders.
  • Braking: Going fast is all about being able to slow down quickly and with control.
  • Turns: Perhaps the single most important skill in racing. Simon teaches the ins and outs of all types of turns.
  • Dropping Skills: Learn to drop the right way with correct form, then learn advanced techniques such as “racer style” drops.
  • Jumping Skills: Learn to get airborne the right way – then work on more advanced racing techniques such as “scrubbing and squashing”. Learn to set your body up for that next section by working with your bike in the air.
  • Racing specific preparation: Learn tips and tricks to get yourself mentally and physically prepared for your next big event.

Testimonials

Hey Simon, I just wanted to thank you again for the technique tips but more so for recharging my motivation. I’ve been struggling with a performance plateau this season – not quite knowing how to break through! In applying your suggestions on the trail and bmx track alone I’ve noticed a big difference already–can’t wait to get back to the mountains!Thank you so much! -Karen Eagan

SIMON AND BRIAN RULE !! I went to clinics with them both days. Their downhill lessons are just the BEST !!! ALWAYS ALWAYS have those guys there !! I learned so much from them and the EMS crew and I think everyone who was there thought the same. So many people were there trying dh! Seems like every one had a great time, hope you did as well. Best regards to you and Brian. Have a good one! – Alex

I’m still so excited about yesterday. That was one of the best sessions I’ve ever had w/ you. I love how you integrated motocross experience. There are so many parallels! –Jim

I hit the backside of a jump (or close to it) on Crank It Up. I actually hit two in a row and was so stunned I think I stiffened up and didn’t do it again. I am SO STOKED!!!! It felt really good. I just gotta keep practicing – Kathy

I still use some of the tips you told me everyday and they help more than anyone I ever have had advice from- you’re a natural coach! I hope to get back over there soon but unfortunately I don’t live as close to Whistler or anywhere like that as you do which makes it hard (it sucks being on this side of the equator sometimes)! Hope your well and if your ever keen to come to Australia, I’d love to show you some cool places and take you riding. Brad’s been riding really well since our session with you and has won the first two rounds of the NSW state series (the biggest state in Oz with over 7 million people) which is awesome. He’s looking fitter and stronger than ever and actually won the last round by about 10 seconds on only a 3 minute track over some stiff competition!- Dave House / Pro DH /Australia

I think that the most beneficial thing I saw/heard from Simon wasn’t about riding but about teaching. He is SO positive, supportive, encouraging, and genuinely excited about riding and introducing others to riding at whatever level is right for them. I see that same support and excitement in all your ride reports and watching Simon live it in this class made me very determined to bring it -Glenn and Tony

Something just hit me like a ton of bricks; one of the best parts of today’s class was watching the team work together. We had 15 instructors and every single one of them were 100% supportive of each other; they were helpful, encouraging and had fun learning together-I’m totally impressed; this was a fun class. In addition, the level of skill in the group ranged from novice to expert-it’s not to often you see such a diverse group pull together so quickly; I think this says a lot about Simon’s teaching ability. Thanks again! -Bob

I don’t know if it’s the instruction or what, but I’m now climbing with the big boys and in some cases, beating them! This has never happened before. -dave.

Thanks again for the lesson, it was very helpful. As a teacher I can tell you possess the ability to effectively transmit knowledge to your students—a rare and unique gift. –Chris

I just wanted to tell you again how amazing your lesson was! Kathy actually stayed after we all left and did the big drop on the left and went over and did the first drop on the righthand line! Amazing. We are all headed back down tomorrow for some more accomplishments! – Julie

Thanks for an awesome Clinic, talk about the value of relevant contextual learning, I really enjoyed being around such a highly motivated group of people; everything seemed to come together today – Robert

You run a great camp and you provided me with information that really helped me feel more comfortable attacking the course. – Mike

Hi Simon. I have to tell you my good news. We are up in Whistler this weekend and I finally, after years of riding up here, went off the Middle GLC!!! It was buttery smooth and felt so good. I have you to thank, so THANK YOU!!! : ) – Kathy

Belated thanks for all you did to make the bike trip a success! J.D. had a
fantastic time – the details are still trickling out. Lots of work went
into it – we appreciate all that you did. – Robin

I already watched like a pro and it has already helped alot. i look forward to working with you – just got 9th at angel fire today – Josh

Thanks a lot for the great instruction. I learned a lot and had so much fun–my favorite combination. – Fredrika

Once again, thanks for the awesome lesson! Your teaching method is excellent. You provided totally personalized instruction according to what I wanted – and more importantly, what I needed. You carefully analyzed my existing skills and coached me on the points I needed to improve – and improve I did. The video feedback was a great way to show me what I was doing during each run, and how I had improved after applying what you taught me. And the new techniques you shared with me will be enormously useful for the kind of riding I like to do. Your coaching has definitely taken me to the next level! With my new-found confidence and ability, I will be entering some races soon. You helped me make huge breakthroughs in my riding! – Brian

This is a late thanks to you and Lars for the June 26th class. The class is something that I have needed to learn from for years. I have now lost my fear (but my wife has a new one) at south Sea-tac park. My expectations from your class were met, and I am enjoying riding my long travel bike more than ever.- Sherman

I wanted to thank you again for the camp. It was fantastic – I had a lot of fun, and I learned a lot. It’ll take some time to get all the pieces together, and I’m gonna have to work my ass off for quite a while to get to where I want to be, but it’s gonna be fun work, and well worth it. I’m sure I’ll be hitting you up again after I spend some time practicing. -Dave

Thanks again for a great clinic. I did the race in Leavenworth last Saturday – it was hot but more importantly it had a big drop into a creek that I did. I can’t say I did it “racerstyle” but I did it. Next year – racerstyle. – Megan

Hello, I was just wondering if Simon and Brian are going to be back at Pedrosfest this year ? Seriously, they are the number one reason I go to that. Those guys are totally awesome to ride with and teach us beginners so much it is great. Last year was great since the whole EMS race crew was there too. Anyhow just wondering if they’re gonna be there !- Mark

We just wanted to thank you for your time and patience during your downhill clinic this past Sunday at Jimmy Peak. I used those skills on our weekly XC ride last night. I was quicker and more confidant on the trails! What a difference your clinic made! Thanks again! – Erik, Deb, and Amy
