Criss crossing in and out of countries without a passport…

Sven had to go and do a photo shoot in Chatel this past weekend in the Porte de Soleil region, and I decided to jump in on this opportunity and to invite myself along for a bike ride. It was so beautiful, you criss cross in and out of France and Switzerland, catching chair lifts up and down everywhere, dodging cows and thunder storms and with some 800+ km’s of trails, you will never find yourself on the same trail twice. International Community School Camp

We just finished up with a five day camp with the International Community School in Kirkland Washington. We were super stoked to get the Lake Washington School Districts’ approval to take 33 lucky 7th-12th graders out to Port Angeles for a week of shredding the Dry Hill trail system. Can you imagine getting to go downhill riding during school time? I can’t, and think even the kids were in a bit of shock about what they were able to experience of the course of this incredible week together. Continue reading ‘International Community School Camp’

Ride South Africa with Andrew and Jonty!

Over the winter, Fluidride/Virtual Descent riders Sven and Anka Martin traveled to their homeland of South Africa. In addition Anka racing the Cape Epic, the two took some time to go out on a mountain bike safari, and to visit with family and friends. While there, Sven got the brothers Neethling (Andrew and Jonty) to take a few runs on the local trails with our camera gear. Check out the trails and listen to some friendly brotherly banter as the two rip some local spots. There are a few videos, so be sure to check them all out. Thanks go out to Sven, Andrew and Jonty. Nice riding guys!

Mt Ashland 12 mile Super D

Mark Jordan from DeclineOK so it’s been a while (never heard that here before eh?). I’ve been out with injury for the last 2 months and didn’t figure anyone would be all that excited to hear about my “epic” 35-50 mile road rides I’ve been doing on my 32 pound Super D bike (Hey It’s cushy and better than running) or my exciting trips to the Y to lift weights. Thrill a minute around here. But I wanted to write about this years Mt Ashland Super D.For those of you unfamiliar with the course I’ll try to lay it out for you. The start is at the Mt Ashland ski lodge at 6500 ft elev. from the start you can see the approximate area in Ashland where the finish is at about 2000 ft elev. Sunny Scotland

Sven, Lars and I have had an amazing week here in Fort William, Scotland. The sun has been shining all week and the track was dry and dusty and oh so much fun. The only negative thing about the whole week, were the MIDGES, they are tiny little mosquito like insects that devour your skin and leave you covered in itchy bites. We all look like we have some sort of Scottish disease or something. I felt great all week, the track was extremely demanding, and I needed some MAN arms halfway down the track, but it is by far the best downhill track that I have ever raced on. I had a big crash on my first run this morning, thought I broke my thumb, but was able to do my qualifying run. Continue reading ‘Sunny Scotland’
