A buddy of mine showed me your Fluidride DVD and I just wanted to say that watching it was easily the most beneficial thing I’ve ever done to increase my technical skills. Thanks. – Geoff

I wanted to thank you for the DVD Simon.  My boyfriend and I watched a little of it last night while we were eating dinner and I already learned so much.  Mountain biking for me has always been just chasing after brothers and boyfriends–which always went okay due to my comfort with speed and background in ski racing–but I have never gotten formal instruction, so that was hugely helpful! -Libby/Olympic Skier

Your teaching really helped me out.  Our session was a blast, and the the skills and self confidence I gained were immeasurable.  More than anything I left feeling like I was starting to scratch away at something that had been an obstacle for me for years.  Now I feel like I can approach XC and even Super D with more confidence. – Matt

Your coaching methods, enthusiasm and approach to life is right on and enjoyable to be with for those two hours. I was so stoked to be able to accomplish ’snapping’ turns within a two hour lesson. You’ve opened up new doors of MTB’ing I’d not realized. I’m excited to continue this exploration of dancing on pedals. – Mike

WOW!   You were right.  Completely revolutionized my cornering and riding.  I still have a lot of work ahead of me in turning left, but as you said, it’s now a matter of “bad corners rather than bad races.”  Practicing today, I knew exactly why I blew a corner and was able to learn from it and move forward.  It was also amazing at how seamless and natural exploding out of corners became. Very excited to put it to the test tomorrow….  in one day, I can tell my riding is already at a WHOLE new level. Thanks again for your time & help yesterday! – Kari/Pro Cyclocross racer/Single Speed CX World Champion.

Just a quick note to say thank you for the lesson. I learned a ton…seriously. Your methods and communication techniques are super effective. It was a great session and well worth the time and the dollars. – Carl

Thank you so much for the lesson Saturday.  My confidence (and then skills) grew to a point where we were riding things I thought were impossible by my standards. – Tony

Thanks for the great instructional last evening.  I’m pumped to work on the principles we talked about last night and to actually give some thought about what I’m doing, body position wise, on my bike.  I also want to say that you’re teaching style is really great, I actually provide software training as part of my job and as such I have received a lot of training.  People can learn more in a shorter amount of time when the instruction is delivered in such a way that they can relate to it, that and your positive feedback is more than anyone could ask for in class/ training. – Rob

I’ve meant to send this email for a long time now, but I wanted to thank you for the great time and instruction in Whistler.  I had a blast.  It was one of the best trips I’ve had and the chance to ride and learn so much in such a short period of time was awesome. I appreciated your approach to the camp as well.  The phased approach and evaluations and advice allowed me to gain confidence and understand more about how riding well should feel. – Sam

The training that we did together was really a turning point for me, and I want to make sure that I convey that to you. – April/Pro rider

I have been going up to Duthie 3 times a week and working on what we did during our lesson.  I can make it down boot camp with no brakes and have taken 40 seconds off from my starting time on a 3 minute run which has been cool. – Josh

I’m sure you get a million emails for this sort of thing, but I wanted to tell you how awesome it is that you do what you do.  You’re style not only makes us better riders, but better people.  Just by sharing the stories you do about racing, life, and everything in between, we learn to be better riders in addition to having various things to think about from nutrition and fitness to how to be a better person. – J

Thanks a ton for the clinic this weekend. I know it was humbling for all of us and we learned a ton. I ride horses competitively and have been to a lot of clinics, I’ve learned that there are lots of people who ride (bikes and horses) well but only a few who can teach the fundamentals. You’re one of them and it’s a great gift. We definitely plan on coming back and have tentative Whistler dates set so we’ll keep in contact about that too. – Sarah

I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed and appreciated your coaching in Whistler!  My riding is noticeably improved.  I now have a plan going into every corner and jump and am much more consistent than before.  My only regret is that I did not do this sooner! – Rich

The Hood River super D had tons of swoopy corners that rewarded good cornering skills. I also concentrated on relaxing my arms (the image of bouncing a basketball was in my head all weekend) and found i was much less fatigued at the end. Very stoked – and i didnt hesitate to mention that I owe a lot to the session I had with you. – Dave/Oregon Super D Cat 1 Series Champion

I just wanted to thank you again for a great lesson. We both really enjoyed it and are noticing a big difference already. We rode green line #6 yesterday and shaved about 30 minutes off our time hahaha what a gain :) I can’t wait to work with you again. – Ben/Olympic Medalist Ice Dancing

Thanks again.  My riding just keeps getting better and better. I recommend your classes and DVDs to all my friends. – John

We learned so much. I wish I had gotten a class from you 10 years ago. – Trey

It was pretty cool to see the positioning and balance techniques you taught us directly correlate to road racing as well. – Camille

I just wanted to give you a huge thanks for the lesson a couple months back.  Those basics in positioning and cornering helped immensely for the DH portions of the MTB race.  I ended up passing 7-8 folks on the DH portions…thanks! – Mike

Your instruction has totally changed my mountain biking. I road the day after and hit a couple of jumps and was in complete control. So amazing! – Brian

I took your April 3rd Trail Essentials class at Duthie Hill. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot. You are a great teacher and the concepts you showed us really opened my eyes. – Tyler

It was great riding with you! I definitely made some big strides. – Dan

I received the DVD today, so thank you mate. I now know why I ended up in the dirt on Sunday. This DVD is a godsend. All the best to you and Fluidride. – Daniel

I really value and admire anyone who has mastered a skill and broken it down into a method for teaching others. I get blown away by the eye for analysis and the simple communication methods you have refined. The resulting progression is addictive. I aspire to develop the same analysis and communication skills in everything I do. – RJ

Hey, thanks again. Your instruction will definitely help me this year trying to keep up with the young guns. – Shawn

Thanks again Simon. It was great to meet and ride with you! I am jazzed about the upcoming XC season. I tried some of my old familiar trails yesterday, and I rode with much more energy and flair. You’ve turned my downhill riding around! -Mark

Did some footwork drills on the flat road and was amazed at how effective this technique is. The bike felt more planted and stable, plus it seemed to accelerate through the apex of the turn. Good stuff!! – John

So as of today it’s official: I’m now a jumper!  I took what we practiced and nailed a tricky jump near my house over and over again. – Bryan

Rode Duthie again this morning. Drops are almost second nature and I cleared the tabletop at the end of 2hi. It was sweet!  – Josh

Hi Simon, I am writing from Buenos Aires Argentina and I wanted to to congratulate you for the video Fluidride like a pro. It had been very helpful to me. – Nicolas

First let me say…thank you….second, and I hope this is correctly understood by you, you’re ego is one of great understanding and knowledge of self, I appreciate this about you, very much. You’re words regarding focusing on what you love & not on the things you’re not riding will stay w/me.  That’s my constant battle, but i need to revel in the do rather than focus on the didn’t… – Jarred

Hi Simon, Thanks for the lesson last Friday, I learned a ton and look forward to digesting the content of the DVD’s. Cheers and I think I will be seeing you again before too long. – Ben

I wanted to thank you for offering up your insight.  I love taking classes that keep me up at night thinking about what I learned.  I was actually stirring in bed. For me I feel like just opening up my body and getting the death grip off the bike with my legs working well is going to increase my flow on the trails. Foot work and the little skills I took away as bonuses are absolutely enormous. As I absorb and integrate some of these skills, I would certainly like to come back for some one on one instruction. -Dirk

Thanks for the great class today. I definitely am faster in my bike now, and I know I’ll only improve as I practice. -Stephen

Hi Simon, great clinic!  I actually put some of it to work today in my Eatonville Road Race believe or not.  The 6 lap course had a down hill into a combination of two nearly 90 degree turns.  I dropped my outside pedal not all the way, but keep slightly increasing pressure on it.  I felt confident, and indeed I always gained ground on my competitors through these turns which set me up perfect for the climb that immediately followed.  I got 4th place today in combined Masters, 2nd in 50+. – Mark

Hey Simon, I just wanted to thank you again for the technique tips but more so for recharging my motivation. I’ve been struggling with a performance plateau this season – not quite knowing how to break through! In applying your suggestions on the trail and bmx track alone I’ve noticed a big difference already–can’t wait to get back to the mountains!Thank you so much! -Karen Eagan

I finally watched Flow Tonic (twice). Excellent!  Great to have it as a refresher. I also watched the second half of Fluidride. I was totally forgetting to put my heels back on drops. I still got pretty good pressure into my palms, but no heels. I gotta make it a habit to watch your vids at least once, if not twice a year. Great stuff! -Dan

I’m still so excited about yesterday. That was one of the best sessions I’ve ever had w/ you. I love how you integrated motocross experience. There are so many parallels! –Jim

We talked on the phone last Friday.  Thank you for getting the DVD into the mail so quickly!  I watched it Saturday night and wow.  So much good information and explanations.  I can’t wait to ride this Saturday and try it all out! – Bill

I hit the backside of a jump (or close to it) on Crank It Up. I actually hit two in a row and was so stunned I think I stiffened up and didn’t do it again. I am SO STOKED!!!! It felt really good. I just gotta keep practicing – Kathy

I still use some of the tips you told me everyday and they help more than anyone I ever have had advice from- you’re a natural coach! I hope to get back over there soon but unfortunately I don’t live as close to Whistler or anywhere like that as you do which makes it hard (it sucks being on this side of the equator sometimes)! Hope your well and if your ever keen to come to Australia, I’d love to show you some cool places and take you riding. Brad’s been riding really well since our session with you and has won the first two rounds of the NSW state series (the biggest state in Oz with over 7 million people) which is awesome. He’s looking fitter and stronger than ever and actually won the last round by about 10 seconds on only a 3 minute track over some stiff competition!- Dave House / Pro DH /Australia

I think that the most beneficial thing I saw/heard from Simon wasn’t about riding but about teaching. He is SO positive, supportive, encouraging, and genuinely excited about riding and introducing others to riding at whatever level is right for them. I see that same support and excitement in all your ride reports and watching Simon live it in this class made me very determined to bring it -Glenn and Tony

Something just hit me like a ton of bricks; one of the best parts of today’s class was watching the team work together. We had 15 instructors and every single one of them were 100% supportive of each other; they were helpful, encouraging and had fun learning together-I’m totally impressed; this was a fun class. In addition, the level of skill in the group ranged from novice to expert-it’s not to often you see such a diverse group pull together so quickly; I think this says a lot about Simon’s teaching ability. Thanks again! -Bob

I don’t know if it’s the instruction or what, but I’m now climbing with the big boys and in some cases, beating them! This has never happened before. -Dave.

Thanks again for the lesson, it was very helpful. As a teacher I can tell you possess the ability to effectively transmit knowledge to your students—a rare and unique gift. –Chris

I just wanted to tell you again how amazing your lesson was! Kathy actually stayed after we all left and did the big drop on the left and went over and did the first drop on the righthand line! Amazing. We are all headed back down tomorrow for some more accomplishments! – Julie

Thanks for an awesome Clinic, talk about the value of relevant contextual learning, I really enjoyed being around such a highly motivated group of people; everything seemed to come together today – Robert

You run a great camp and you provided me with information that really helped me feel more comfortable attacking the course. – Mike

Hi Simon. I have to tell you my good news. We are up in Whistler this weekend and I finally, after years of riding up here, went off the Middle GLC!!! It was buttery smooth and felt so good. I have you to thank, so THANK YOU!!! : ) – Kathy

Belated thanks for all you did to make the bike trip a success! J.D. had a
fantastic time – the details are still trickling out. Lots of work went
into it – we appreciate all that you did. – Robin

I already watched like a pro and it has already helped alot. i look forward to working with you – just got 9th at angel fire today – Josh

Thanks a lot for the great instruction. I learned a lot and had so much fun–my favorite combination. – Fredrika

Once again, thanks for the awesome lesson! Your teaching method is excellent. You provided totally personalized instruction according to what I wanted – and more importantly, what I needed. You carefully analyzed my existing skills and coached me on the points I needed to improve – and improve I did. The video feedback was a great way to show me what I was doing during each run, and how I had improved after applying what you taught me. And the new techniques you shared with me will be enormously useful for the kind of riding I like to do. Your coaching has definitely taken me to the next level! With my new-found confidence and ability, I will be entering some races soon. You helped me make huge breakthroughs in my riding! – Brian

This is a late thanks to you and Lars for the June 26th class. The class is something that I have needed to learn from for years. I have now lost my fear (but my wife has a new one) at south Sea-tac park. My expectations from your class were met, and I am enjoying riding my long travel bike more than ever.- Sherman

I wanted to thank you again for the camp. It was fantastic – I had a lot of fun, and I learned a lot. It’ll take some time to get all the pieces together, and I’m gonna have to work my ass off for quite a while to get to where I want to be, but it’s gonna be fun work, and well worth it. I’m sure I’ll be hitting you up again after I spend some time practicing. -Dave

Thanks again for a great clinic. I did the race in Leavenworth last Saturday – it was hot but more importantly it had a big drop into a creek that I did. I can’t say I did it “racerstyle” but I did it. Next year – racerstyle. – Megan

Hello, I was just wondering if Simon and Brian are going to be back at Pedrosfest this year ? Seriously, they are the number one reason I go to that. Those guys are totally awesome to ride with and teach us beginners so much it is great. Last year was great since the whole EMS race crew was there too. Anyhow just wondering if they’re gonna be there !- Mark

We just wanted to thank you for your time and patience during your downhill clinic this past Sunday at Jimmy Peak. I used those skills on our weekly XC ride last night. I was quicker and more confidant on the trails! What a difference your clinic made! Thanks again! – Erik, Deb, and Amy
