What Does a Typical Tour Look Like?
Sample Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival Day (Saturday)
Arrival day in Chamonix! We’ll gather as a group in the evening, get rental bikes sorted, and discuss the week ahead.
Day 2:
Starting the trip directly from Chamonix, we will warm up on a gentle balcony trail through the Chamonix Valley heading to Le Tour and traversing around onto classic Swiss single track and descending down to Chatelard, meet the van and head up to the Emosson dam, from there it's a techy start before we flow our way down to Martigny. Rendevous with the van and head off in the direction of Col Grand St Bernard but not before squeezing in one last descent.
Day 3:
Straight out from the hotel we will be descending a big balcony trail down towards Aosta, meet up with the van, pack some food and head off for the first big climb of the week. A good pedal/hike a bike to the Col (I hope you have a good head for heights) at nearly 3,000m! A high alpine single track awaits us all the way to Courmayeur for gelato and beer. Staying overnight in Aosta.
Day 4:
Sampling some classic Aosta flow, uplift trails for the day, drinking coffee and eating pizza! Sounds terrible, right?
Day 5:
The big traverse, leaving Italy and pedaling back to France, another high Col to pass at nearly 3,000m high, a mix of riding and pushing our way to the top, but oh so worth it once we get there, this is a real out there in the wilderness day. Staying the night in Bourg Saint Maurice.
Day 6:
We will spend Thursday morning lapping Les Arcs Rocky landscape then heading for a high ridgeline ride above Beaufort, where we will stay the night.
Day 7:
A quick warm up lap or two here in Beaufort before jumping back in the van and heading up to Col Du Joly and then riding down to Les Contamines, rendevous with van and head off for some classic local Chamonix trails ending with some sundowners in the centre of town!
Day 8: Departure Day
Enjoy your final morning in the Alps!
