FIT Level 1

Fluidride Instructor Training is the ultimate classroom for learning mountain bike skills. This 2-day (15 hour) course taught by Simon Lawton will give you powerful tools for evaluating rider form, while simultaneously transforming your own riding. It covers the curriculum from Trail Essentials, Advanced Cornering, and Air 101 at a deeper level. Even if you’re not looking to become an instructor, this course is the best way to reinforce your understanding of the key foundational skills.

FIT Level 2

Building on the foundations taught in FIT 1, this course continues into more advanced riding skills, including combining skills. Learn how to challenge riders and yourself during this six hour instructional class.

Travel Tips

When to come:

While we offer group classes from March through October, Seattle is not famous for its year-round sunshine! We recommend traveling during June, July, or August to have the best chance at pleasant weather. Our trails are famously wonderful year-round, so plan on staying some extra days to enjoy the local goods!

Flying with your bike:

Be sure to choose an airline with a reasonable price for the bike. We’ve had good experiences with both Alaska and Delta (usually $30-$100 each way, depending on location). It can costs hundreds on some airline carriers, so it definitely pays to research this ahead of time!

Packing your bike with a bike bag (such as an Evoc bag) is relatively simple, and can be done with basic tools.

First time packing your bike? Check out our bike packing guide!

Renting a bike:

We recommend a local shop called Ride Bicycles in Issaquah, WA. You can book online or call them at +1 (425) 961-9061. They are <10 min from Duthie Hill, where most of our group classes are held.

Where to stay:

We strongly recommend choosing lodging with a generous cancellation policy, in the event Fluidride must cancel the class (poor weather, air quality, etc).

For classes held at Duthie Hill (the majority of our group classes), we recommend finding an airbnb in Issaquah or Sammamish. Hotels are not common in this area! There is also nice camping at Tolt MacDonald (reservation needed; see camping fees here.)

Cancellations and refund policy:

As a small business, we do not offer refunds once a class has been purchased. However, if Fluidride needs to cancel your class (weather, air quality, etc), we will give you a full credit for future use. This credit can also be transferred to another rider at no cost. If you need to cancel or reschedule your class, please give us at least one week’s notice prior to your class date, and we will give you a full credit. Full policy here.
