Advanced Cornering/Steeps
Sale Price: $149.00 Original Price: $179.00

Welcome to Advanced Cornering/Steeps!

Imagine riding each turn with more confidence, whether it’s flat, rooty, wet, loose, or off-camber! This class gives you the tools to maximize traction, carry more speed, and ride safer. Even the same turn can change depending on the day and weather, so this is a great way to learn how to read the unique elements of each turn, and adapt accordingly. We also cover steep descents, and how to approach these with confidence! Correct body position is counter-intuitive for a lot of people, but greatly improves safety and consistency.

This course is for riders that have taken Trail Essentials and are comfortable and confident executing the skills taught in that class, including consistent footwork and a solid understanding of front-foot and back-foot turns. Must be an intermediate rider at a minimum. If you’re not sure if this is the right class for you, please reach out to us, or consider repeating the Trail Essentials course to reinforce your cornering skills!

Advanced Cornering covers:

  • Off-Camber Turns

  • Switchbacks

  • Pre-Turns

  • Bike-Body Separation

  • Braking

  • Steep Descents

  • Increasing and Decreasing Radius Turns

  • Changing the Camber and Radius Within a Turn

Why do I need to take Trail Essentials first?

Trail Essentials is a critical building block for Advanced Cornering, regardless of your current riding ability. It establishes the ‘how’ and ‘why’, and gives you the exact tools that we apply to various scenarios throughout Advanced Cornering. Many riders will even choose to repeat Trail Essentials several times before moving on to Advanced Cornering, and they are able to apply the concepts much more quickly!
