Jane Simmons, Instructor
Jane Simmons is an instructor-in-training with big dreams to empower people in mountain biking through confidence-inspiring coaching and support. Jane has experience riding with and educating many diverse groups of women and has helped many reach new levels of skill and passion. She loves bringing a fun, approachable energy to her rides (as well as the occasional batch of cookies). Through proper instruction, Jane believes that anyone can gain the confidence and skill necessary to have fun riding bikes for the rest of their lives.
As a mother to an energetic toddler, Jane has learned the significance of passion, self-motivation, and community. Jane’s goal is always to empower people in mountain biking through confidence-inspiring coaching and support. She has had the opportunity to advocate for women on bikes through many organizations, including being a club captain for a women’s mountain bike club in Utah. Through her experience, Jane has picked up the skills, education, and excitement needed to be an effective and efficient coach. She loves working with all riders, but especially loves coaching women new to biking or looking to take their riding to the next level! Ultimately, she wants her students to have the best shot possible at making mountain biking a self-sustaining, lifelong pursuit.
Throughout her mountain biking career, Jane has participated in numerous enduro and cross-country races, helped coach a high school team, and organized community events. She hopes to continue racing and supporting her community as often as possible. Jane has a BA in history education and taught high school history for several years before moving back home to Washington in 2018. She hopes to bring the same (and more) skill and enthusiasm into her work with Fluidride. If there’s any doubt about Jane’s obsession with mountain biking, just ask her about biking through pregnancy and even on her due date!
